Mr. Speaker:

    Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

SENATE BILL 122, as amended

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. Strike Senate Education Committee Amendment 3.

     2. On page 1, line 13, after "GRADUATION", insert "; LIMITING CHANGES TO GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS AFTER STUDENTS ENTER NINTH GRADE".

     3. On page 3, between lines 19 and 20, insert the following new subsection:

          "F. Once a student has entered ninth grade, the graduation requirements shall not be changed for that student from the requirements specified in the law at the time the student entered ninth grade.".

     4. Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.

     5. On page 6, strike lines 13 through 15 in their entirety and insert in lieu thereof "a physical education program that meets state content and performance standards or participation in marching band, junior reserve officers' training corps or interscholastic sports sanctioned by the New Mexico activities association;".
