AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS DEPARTMENT FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF A NATIONAL WORK FORCE ASSESSMENT SYSTEM IN PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOLS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the workforce solutions department for expenditure in fiscal year 2015 to implement a national work force assessment system that would replace for inclined work force-bound public high school students the reading and mathematics exit examinations typically required for graduation and would help such students fittingly prepare for employment upon graduation. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2015 shall revert to the general fund.
