AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FOR A PARENT ADVOCACY PROJECT IN THE ALBUQUERQUE PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred eighty thousand dollars ($580,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2015 and subsequent fiscal years to establish a parent advocacy project to enhance parent support of failing students in Albuquerque public schools. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
