AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING COORDINATED CANCER PREVENTION, RESEARCH AND EDUCATION SERVICES, INCLUDING ACCESS TO CLINICAL TRIALS IN RURAL AREAS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2015 to provide coordinated cancer prevention, research and education services, including access to clinical trials in rural areas. The department shall provide the services through a nonprofit statewide network of health care providers engaged in conducting clinical trials, providing educational services to physicians and patients and coordinating with organizations that provide support services to cancer patients and their families. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2015 shall revert to the general fund.
