A MEMORIAL

PROCLAIMING FEBRUARY 14, 2013 "I LOVE RIO RANCHO DAY" IN THE SENATE.

 

     WHEREAS, the city of Rio Rancho started out as a retirement community called Rio Rancho Estates in the early 1960s; and

     WHEREAS, the city of Rio Rancho became an incorporated municipality in 1981; and

     WHEREAS, the city of Rio Rancho is now the third-largest city in New Mexico, with a population of more than eighty-nine thousand people; and

     WHEREAS, the city of Rio Rancho is recognized nationally as one of the best places to live in the United States; and

     WHEREAS, the city of Rio Rancho has a growing business community, a tremendous public school district, higher education facilities and a variety of recreation and quality-of-life amenities that residents of all ages can utilize; and

     WHEREAS, the city of Rio Rancho and the Rio Rancho regional chamber of commerce have celebrated "I Love Rio Rancho Day" at the legislature on Valentine's day for the past several years;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that February 14, 2013 be proclaimed "I Love Rio Rancho Day" in the senate; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the Rio Rancho city council, the mayor of Rio Rancho and the Rio Rancho regional chamber of commerce.
