A JOINT MEMORIAL

REQUESTING THAT SANTA FE COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND THE CITY OF SANTA FE STUDY AND IDENTIFY THE NEED FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO ROADS TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE INGRESS AND EGRESS TO THE PROPOSED HIGHER LEARNING CENTER IN SANTA FE.

 

     WHEREAS, the proposed higher learning center in Santa Fe is slated to be located in an area that may be accessed by Cerrillos road, Camino Carlos Rey, St Michael's drive, Llano street and Siringo road; and

     WHEREAS, traffic on those roads is already heavy, and the condition of those roads is inadequate to handle the expected influx of traffic; and

     WHEREAS, the proposed higher learning center in Santa Fe will mean an increase in traffic on those roads, particularly where ingress and egress to the higher learning center is established;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that Santa Fe community college and the city of Santa Fe be requested to conduct a study and identify and report on the need for improved and adequate road infrastructure to provide adequate ingress and egress to the proposed higher learning center; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the report created pursuant to the Santa Fe community college and the city of Santa Fe study be presented to the appropriate interim committee of the legislature by November 2013; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the mayor of Santa Fe and the president of Santa Fe community college.
