A MEMORIAL

PROCLAIMING JANUARY 28, 2013 "LAS CRUCES HIGH SCHOOL BULLDAWG DAY" AT THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

     WHEREAS, Las Cruces public schools focus on excellence in education at all levels and in extracurricular sports; and

     WHEREAS, Las Cruces public schools, throughout many decades, have not only produced some of the best academics from New Mexico, but may have also produced some of the top athletic programs, with several championship teams in all sport categories; and

     WHEREAS, Las Cruces high school is the oldest high school within the Las Cruces public school district, and the Las Cruces bulldawg football program has won several titles in every decade since its inception; and

     WHEREAS, the Las Cruces varsity football team won the 2012 district championship; and 

     WHEREAS, the Las Cruces varsity football team won the 2012 New Mexico 5A championship, defeating the Sandia high school matadors on December 7, 2012;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that congratulations be extended to the Las Cruces high school football team, the bulldawgs, for winning the 2012 New Mexico 5A championship; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Monday, January 28, 2013, be proclaimed "Las Cruces High School Bulldawg Day" at the New Mexico house of representatives; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the coaches and members of the 2012 Las Cruces high school varsity football team.
