AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR TRAINING OF SOCIAL WORKERS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL REGARDING ANIMAL CRUELTY LAWS AND SOCIAL AND LEGAL CONSEQUENCES OF ANIMAL CRUELTY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2014 to provide training to social workers and law enforcement personnel around the state regarding animal cruelty laws and the social and legal consequences of animal cruelty. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2014 shall revert to the general fund.
