AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES DEPARTMENT FOR GRANTS TO STATE-ASSISTED CHILD CARE PROVIDERS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2014 to provide grants to state-assisted child care providers to enable the providers to comply with children, youth and families department rules regarding upgrades to facilities, including playground equipment, fire sprinkler systems and purchasing new cribs and transportation vehicles. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2014 shall revert to the general fund.
