AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO FUND A TWENTY-FOUR-HOUR NURSE ADVICE LINE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred-fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2014 to fund a nurse advice telephone hotline that provides nurse triage services twenty-four hours a day to reduce emergency room and hospital costs for uninsured individuals in the state. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2014 shall revert to the general fund.
