SENATE EDUCATION COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR

SENATE BILL 392

has had it under consideration and reports same with the following recommendation:

    1. The following house judiciary committee amendments be APPROVED:

         Nos. 3, 5 and 6

    2. The following house judiciary committee amendments be DISAPPROVED:

         Nos. 1, 2, 4, 7, 8 and 9.

    3. On page 3, line 23, strike "and in".

    4. On page 4, on line 4, strike "years" and insert in lieu thereof "year".

    5. On page 4, line 5, strike "through 2018".

    6. On page 5, between lines 17 and 18, insert a new Section 3 to read:

    "SECTION 3. TEMPORARY PROVISION--TRANSFER OF FUNDS.--On the effective date of this act, fifty million dollars ($50,000,000) is transferred from the general fund operating reserve to the tobacco settlement permanent fund. This transfer represents a restoration of funds diverted from the tobacco settlement permanent fund to meet state fiscal solvency requirements.".

    7. Renumber the succeeding section accordingly.
