SENATE FLOOR AMENDMENT number ___1__ to SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR SENATE RULES COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR SENATE BILL 8

Amendment sponsored by Senator Timothy M. Keller

    1. On page 2, line 2, strike the first "or" and insert in lieu thereof a comma and after "director", insert "or elected official".

    2. On page 2, line 3, after the comma, insert "energy generation or development or management,".

    3. On page 2, line 6, strike "senior".

    4. On page 2, line 6, strike "a private-sector" and insert in lieu thereof "an".

    5. On page 2, line 6, strike "business" and insert in lieu thereof "organization".

    6. On page 3, line 7, after "course", insert "and at least twenty-five hours of continuing education relevant to the duties of a commissioner".

    7. On page 3, between lines 11 and 12, insert the following new section:

    "SECTION 2. GRANDFATHER PROVISION--CURRENT PUBLIC REGULATION COMMISSIONERS.--The qualifications for office of public regulation commissioner provided in Section 8-8-3 NMSA 1978 do not apply to commissioners currently serving on the effective date of this act. The provisions of Subsection E of Section 8-8-3 NMSA 1978 apply to all commissioners beginning in 2013.".
