Mr. Speaker:

    Your TRANSPORTATION AND PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 582

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 1, line 11, after the semicolon, insert "AMENDING A SECTION OF CHAPTER 66, ARTICLE 7 NMSA 1978 AND".

     2. On page 1, between lines 21 and 22, insert a new section to read:

     "SECTION 2. Section 66-7-327 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1978, Chapter 35, Section 431) is amended to read:

     "66-7-327. METHOD OF GIVING HAND AND ARM SIGNALS.--All signals [herein] required in the Motor Vehicle Code and given by hand and arm, except from a bicycle, shall be given from the left side of the vehicle in the following manner, and such signal shall indicate as follows:

          A. left turn, hand and arm extended horizontally;

          B. right turn, hand and arm extended upward; and

          C. stop or decrease speed, hand and arm extended downward."".,

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
