    Your VOTERS AND ELECTIONS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 516

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 4, lines 11 and 12, strike Paragraph (2) in its entirety.

     2. On page 4, lines 15 and 16, strike Paragraph (4) in its entirety.

     3. Renumber the paragraphs to correspond with these amendments.

     4. On page 4, line 18, after "located", insert "chosen by the board of county commissioners".

     5. On page 4, line 18, strike the period and insert in lieu thereof "; and" and between lines 18 and 19, insert the following new paragraph:

                "(4) a representative of the New Mexico municipal league who shall be an advisory member of the review team.".

     6. On page 5, line 4, strike "its rejection of" and insert in lieu thereof "deficiencies in".

     7. On page 5, line 5, strike "rejection of" and insert in lieu thereof "notification of deficiencies in".

     8. On page 5, line 6, strike "terminates" and insert in lieu thereof "suspends".

     9. On page 5, line 6, after "Petitioners", insert "have three months from the date of notification of deficiencies to submit an amended plan to the review team. If the amended plan is rejected by the review team for deficiencies, petitioners".

    10. On page 4, line 17, strike “at least”.,

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
