Mr. Speaker:

    Your VOTERS AND ELECTIONS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 444

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 1, lines 12 and 13, strike "QUALIFIED ELECTORS"

and insert in lieu thereof "SIXTEEN YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER".

     2. On page 1, line 25, strike "qualified electors of the state" and insert in lieu thereof "sixteen years of age or older. A registration agent who is a minor shall have the approval of the minor's parent or legal guardian, unless the minor is emancipated.". 

     3. On page 3, line 14, after the period, insert "A certificate shall not be issued until the registration agent gives the registration officer conducting the training a current telephone number and electronic mail address, if available.".

     4. On page 3, lines 14 and 15, strike "until the end of the election cycle in" and insert in lieu thereof "for two years from the date on".,

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
