    Your CONSUMER AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

 

HOUSE BILL 39

 

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

 

     1. On page 1, line 14, before the period, insert "; INCLUDING CONVICTIONS IN OTHER JURISDICTIONS".

 

     2. On page 2, line 4, before the semicolon, insert "; a conviction for rape or criminal sexual penetration or like offense or incest in a jurisdiction, territory or possession of the United States or of a tribe, when that law is equivalent to New Mexico law for criminal sexual penetration or incest, shall be deemed to be a conviction pursuant to this section for purposes of adoption".,

 

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
