AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR BEFORE- AND AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four million dollars ($4,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2013 to support public schools in providing before- and after-school programs. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2013 shall revert to the general fund.
