AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO PURCHASE AND IMPLEMENT ELECTRONIC DATA-COLLECTION AND -SHARING TECHNOLOGY FOR THE PREVENTION OF METHAMPHETAMINE MANUFACTURE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of public safety for expenditure in fiscal years 2013 and 2014 to contract with a supplier of electronic data technology and equipment for the collection and sharing between retail pharmacies and the department of public safety of secured pseudoephedrine purchase information at the point of sale, including verified identity details and central database storage, to prevent methamphetamine manufacturing. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2014 shall revert to the general fund.
