AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR THE NEW MEXICO DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE TO ASSIST IN SECURING WATER RIGHTS USED FOR STOCK WATERING ON FEDERAL LAND IN THE GILA AND SAN FRANCISCO RIVER BASINS IN CATRON COUNTY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal years 2012 and 2013 for the New Mexico department of agriculture to be used by Catron county to support the identification and quantification of water rights used for stock watering on federal lands within the Gila and San Francisco river basins. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2013 shall revert to the general fund.
