A MEMORIAL
RECOGNIZING ARIAN FOSTER AS AN OUTSTANDING NEW MEXICAN.
WHEREAS, Arian Foster was born on August 24, 1986 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Carl Foster, a former wide receiver for the University of New Mexico, and Bernadette Sizemore, an administrative assistant for the university; and
WHEREAS, Arian Foster competed in football at Valley High School; and
WHEREAS, Arian Foster was a three-year starter at the running back position for the University of Tennessee; and
WHEREAS, Arian was signed by the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent and made his National Football League debut against the Tennessee Titans on November 23, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Arian posted a one-hundred-yard game in his first career start in the National Football League; and
WHEREAS, Arian finished the 2010 season by winning the National Football League rushing title with one thousand six hundred sixteen rushing yards; and
WHEREAS, during the 2010 season, Arian broke the record set by Priest Holmes for most yards from scrimmage ever by an undrafted player; and
WHEREAS, Arian was invited to the 2011 Pro Bowl;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that recognition be extended to Arian Foster, an outstanding New Mexican; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to Arian Foster.
