SENATE FLOOR AMENDMENT number ___1__ to SENATE BILL 142, as amended

Amendment sponsored by Senator Howie C. Morales

    1. On page 4, between lines 13 and 14, after the Senate Education Committee Amendment 3 insert, insert the following new subsection:

    "E. Prior to approving a school district budget that increases full-time-equivalent ancillary service and diagnostic service personnel over the previous year, the department shall verify that the increase in ancillary personnel is warranted and prudent and the number of special education students is reasonable and valid.".

    2. Reletter the succeeding subsection accordingly.
