    Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

SENATE BILL 116

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

    1. On page 2, line 3, after "organization", insert "that meets the standards set by the federal bureau of investigation, the department of public safety or the bureau".

    2. On page 2, line 17, after "exceed", insert "actual costs up to a maximum of".

    3. On page 3, line 3, strike "and".

    4. On page 3, line 7, strike the period and insert in lieu thereof "; and".

    5. On page 3, between lines 7 and 8, insert the following paragraph:

             "(8) how often a criminal background check may be requested by the department or bureau, provided that a licensee shall only have to submit to a criminal background check during every other license renewal or every four years.",

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
