    Your LABOR AND HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 598

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows: 

     1. On page 1, line 14, after "MANUFACTURERS", strike the remainder of the line.

     2. On page 2, line 10, after the semicolon, insert "provided that the requirement of five or more employees who are residents is waived for resident veteran businesses;".

     3. On page 3, line 20, strike "and".

     4. On page 3, line 22, strike "majority" and insert in lieu thereof "sole".

     5. On page 3, line 24, strike the period and insert in lieu thereof "; and" and between lines 24 and 25, insert the following paragraph:

          "(3) "recycled content goods" means supplies and materials composed of twenty-five percent or more recycled materials; provided that the recycled materials content meets or exceeds the minimum content standards required by bid specifications.".

     6. On page 8, between lines 3 and 4, insert the following subsection:

          "B. When bids are received for both recycled content goods and nonrecycled content goods, the public body shall deem the bid price submitted for recycled content goods of equal quality to be five percent lower than the bid price actually submitted.".

     7. Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.

     8. On page 8, line 5, after the comma, insert "and after any adjustment in bid price required by Subsection B of this section,".

     9. On page 11, line 4, strike "own a majority" and insert in lieu thereof "are the sole owners".

     10. On page 14, line 14, strike "majority" and insert in lieu thereof "sole".

     11. On page 16, line 14, strike "own a majority" and insert in lieu thereof "are the sole owners".,

and thence referred to the BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY COMMITTEE.
