    Your CONSUMER AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 372

has had it under consideration and reports same WITHOUT RECOMMENDATION, amended as follows:

1. On page 1, line 21, strike "A" and insert in lieu thereof

     "Except as provided in Subsection C of this section, a".

     2. On page 2, line 14, strike the ending quotation mark.

     3. On page 2, between lines 14 and 15, insert the following new subsection:

          "C. This section does not apply to emergency health care services providers working within their normal scope of practice in an emergency defined pursuant to Subsections A, B and D of Section 24-10-4 NMSA 1978. For the purposes of this section, "emergency health care services provider" means a person that provides health care in emergencies as defined in Subsections A, B and D of Section 24-10-4 NMSA 1978 in the ordinary course of business."".,

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
