Mr. Speaker:
Your CONSUMER AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
HOUSE BILL 366
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 7, strike lines 1 through 4 in their entirety and insert in lieu thereof the following new paragraph:
"(2) four units in mathematics, of which one shall be the equivalent to or higher than the level of algebra 2, unless the parent submitted written, signed permission for the student to complete a lesser mathematics unit; and provided that a financial literacy course that meets state mathematics academic content and performance standards shall qualify as one of the four required mathematics units;".
2. On page 7, line 15, before the semicolon, insert ", unless the student elects to take financial literacy as one of the four units in mathematics pursuant to Paragraph (2) of this subsection".
3. On page 7, line 17, before the period, insert ", or seven and one-half elective units that meet department content and performance standards if a student elects to take financial literacy as one of the four units in mathematics pursuant to Paragraph (2) of this subsection".,
and thence referred to the EDUCATION COMMITTEE.
