Your JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE RULES COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR
SENATE BILLS 43, 108, 154 & 268
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 5, line 23, strike "eight" and insert in lieu thereof "seven".
2. On page 6, line 6, strike "and".
3. On page 6, line 7, strike "four" and insert in lieu thereof "two", and on line 8, after the comma, strike the remainder of the line, strike lines 9 through 16 in their entirety and insert in lieu thereof:
"one of whom shall be a member of the Democratic party and one of whom shall be a member of the Republican party; and".
4. On page 6, between lines 16 and 17, insert the following:
"(6) one commissioner appointed by the chief justice of the supreme court, who shall be a retired judge and who shall chair the commission.".
5. On page 6, line 25, strike "three" and insert in lieu thereof "two".
6. On page 7, strike lines 15 and 16 and reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.
7. On page 7, line 17, strike "Five" and insert in lieu thereof "Four".
8. On page 7, line 20, strike "five" and insert in lieu thereof "four".
9. On page 16, line 23, after the period, strike the remainder of the line, and on line 24, strike through the comma, strike "the" and insert in lieu thereof "The".,
and thence referred to the FINANCE COMMITTEE.
