AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE AGING AND LONG-TERM SERVICES DEPARTMENT FOR SENIOR CITIZEN PROGRAMS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. One million one hundred thirty-seven thousand eight hundred ninety-eight dollars ($1,137,898) is appropriated from the general fund to the aging and long-term services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2011 for the following purposes and in the following amounts:
(1) eight hundred ninety-eight thousand eight hundred thirty-five dollars ($898,835) to the four area agencies on aging for senior services, including adult daycare, case management, congregate meals, home-delivered meals, in-home services, transportation and senior center services throughout the six planning and service areas;
(2) one hundred fifty-six thousand six hundred one dollars ($156,601) for volunteer programs, including foster grandparents, senior companions and retired senior volunteers;
(3) seventeen thousand nine hundred eighty-eight dollars ($17,988) for information, assistance, education and respite services for caregivers and individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders, other chronic illnesses or functional impairments;
(4) eighteen thousand nine hundred nineteen dollars ($18,919) for senior health promotion activities, including senior olympics;
(5) thirteen thousand five hundred sixty-one dollars ($13,561) for statewide legal services activities; and
(6) thirty-one thousand nine hundred ninety-four dollars ($31,994) for the senior community service employment program.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2011 shall revert to the general fund.
