A MEMORIAL
CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF TIMOTHY L. BOWLES AND EXPRESSING SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
WHEREAS, Timothy L. Bowles died on March 15, 2009, at the age of twenty-four, from wounds he sustained in a roadside bomb explosion while he was serving our country in Kandahar, Afghanistan; and
WHEREAS, Timothy is survived by his parents, Louis, Jr., and Lisa; his sister, Heather, and her husband, Daniel Ketchmark; his niece, nephews and grandparents; and many other friends and relatives; and
WHEREAS, he was born on April 17, 1984 in Anchorage, Alaska, and grew up on Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona, where his father was stationed; and
WHEREAS, Timothy enlisted in the United States Air Force upon graduation from high school in 2002, and he was stationed at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico; and
WHEREAS, before he was deployed to Afghanistan in 2009, he served in Korea and at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska, where he was assigned to the Third Logistics Readiness Squadron as a fire engine mechanic; and
WHEREAS, he was always ready to go beyond what was merely expected of him, and on the day he died, he had volunteered to fill in on a mission for a comrade who was not feeling well; and
WHEREAS, he enjoyed playing baseball, snowboarding and riding off-road; and
WHEREAS, Timothy earned the respect and gratitude of his fellow airmen and of all who knew and loved him, and his memory will be honored for his service to his country;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the life of Timothy L. Bowles be celebrated on this day and that sincere condolences be expressed to Louis and Lisa Bowles, Heather Ketchmark and other family and friends on their loss; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to Louis and Lisa Bowles and Heather Ketchmark.
