A MEMORIAL
THANKING STATE EMPLOYEES FOR THEIR DONATION OF BLOOD THROUGH UNITED BLOOD SERVICES.
WHEREAS, united blood services regularly seeks donations of blood in order to maintain supplies of every type of blood in an amount that may be needed by an individual or a large group of persons in an emergency; and
WHEREAS, volunteers who donate blood literally give a part of themselves on behalf of their fellow New Mexicans; and
WHEREAS, hundreds of New Mexico state employees donate blood during the united blood services blood drive every year and their neighbors directly benefit from such donations; and
WHEREAS, the contributions of gallon upon gallon and liter upon liter of blood make all the difference in the adequacy of the supply of blood available at any given moment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that state employees be thanked and recognized for their generosity in donating their life blood to others through united blood services; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the head of each agency that organized a team for blood contributions in the 2008-09 season.
