AN ACT

RELATING TO THE PUBLIC PEACE, HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE; REDISTRIBUTING A PRIOR APPROPRIATION FROM THE WATER PROJECT FUND TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT FOR A GRANT FOR A REGIONAL WATER PROJECT IN RIO ARRIBA, SANDOVAL, MCKINLEY, SAN JUAN AND CIBOLA COUNTIES TO FACILITATE THE PROVISIONS OF LAWS 2007, CHAPTER 139, SECTION 1; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. WATER PROJECT FUND--AUTHORIZATION OF PROJECT--REDISTRIBUTION OF A PRIOR APPROPRIATION.--Five million four hundred thousand dollars ($5,400,000) from a prior appropriation in Laws 2007, Chapter 139, Section 1 is distributed from the water project fund to the department of environment for expenditure in fiscal years 2009 through 2013 for the Navajo Nation division of natural resources department of water resources management branch for a regional water project in San Juan, McKinley, Rio Arriba, Sandoval and Cibola counties. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2013 shall revert to the water project fund.

     Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
