    Your CORPORATIONS AND TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

SENATE BILL 607

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

    1. On page 3, line 8, after the period, insert "The five members shall serve for the term of the governor who appointed them. No more than two members shall be from state agencies, one of whom shall be the director of the New Mexico department of agriculture or the director's designee. One member shall be a representative of the New Mexico Municipal Environmental Quality Association. Each member shall have experience related to the duties of the commission and education in a relevant field, such as engineering, hydrology, geology or economics. The five members may receive reimbursement pursuant to the Per Diem and Mileage Act and shall receive no other compensation, perquisite or allowance for their service on the commission. With the exception of the director of the New Mexico department of agriculture or the director's designee, per diem and mileage compensation shall be paid from funds budgeted to the department of environment.".
