AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF A VETERANS' COURT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the administrative office of the courts for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 to establish and operate a veterans' court, ensuring intervention and diversion to constructive social programs for appropriate veterans of the United States armed services who break a law as a result of post-traumatic stress or substance abuse. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
