AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ESTABLISH A PROGRAM TO ASSIST SECONDARY ACADEMIC COUNSELORS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred ninety-five thousand dollars ($195,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 to support middle and high school academic counselors and develop an academic advising tool kit to inform the practices of academic counselors throughout the state. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
