FOR THE COURTS, CORRECTIONS AND JUSTICE COMMITTEE
AN ACT
MAKING APPROPRIATIONS TO REPLACE FEDERAL AND OTHER FUNDS FOR DRUG COURTS AND TO EXPAND AND CREATE DRUG COURTS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS.--
A. The following amounts are appropriated from the general fund to the administrative office of the courts for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 for the following purposes:
(1) four hundred eighty-nine thousand nine hundred ninety-four dollars ($489,994) to replace federal and other funds for adult and juvenile drug courts in the first, fourth, fifth, sixth, eighth, eleventh and twelfth judicial districts;
(2) three hundred nine thousand four hundred dollars ($309,400) to expand adult, juvenile and family drug courts in the fifth, eighth and thirteenth judicial districts; and
(3) eight hundred thousand six hundred six dollars ($800,606) to add adult and juvenile drug courts in the fourth, fifth, ninth and eleventh judicial districts.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
