AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY TO HIRE STAFF FOR OUTREACH TO AND RETENTION OF STUDENTS IN CHICANO PROGRAMS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty-five thousand dollars ($55,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 to hire staff for outreach to and retention of students in Chicano programs. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
