AN ACT
RELATING TO PUBLIC SCHOOLS; ALLOWING ATTENDANCE AT THE NEW MEXICO STATE FAIR TO COUNT AS AN INSTRUCTIONAL DAY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. A new section of the Public School Code is enacted to read:
"[NEW MATERIAL] INSTRUCTIONAL DAYS--ATTENDANCE AT NEW MEXICO STATE FAIR.--A public school may allow up to one instructional day each year for students to attend the New Mexico state fair if an educational plan is in place pertaining to the viewing of educational exhibits at the fair and the plan has been reviewed and approved by the school principal or other school administrator in the school district."
