AN ACT

RELATING TO HIGHER EDUCATION; PROVIDING FOR THE CREATION OF A RIO RANCHO CAMPUS FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS; PROVIDING FOR SEPARATE OPERATING AND CAPITAL REQUESTS AND PRIORITIES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. RIO RANCHO CAMPUS FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS.--

          A. The board of regents of the university of New Mexico may create a campus of the university in Rio Rancho, which it may operate separately or jointly with any other post-secondary educational institution.

          B. Any institution operating on the Rio Rancho campus may submit its Rio Rancho campus operational budgets and capital improvement capital requests to the higher education department separate from those of the main campus or other campuses.
