AN ACT

RELATING TO HEALTH CARE; MANDATING THAT INSURERS ENTER INTO SERVICE REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENTS WITH A NEW MEXICO-BASED TWENTY-FOUR-HOUR STATEWIDE NURSE ADVICE LINE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. A new section of the Public Assistance Act is enacted to read:

     "[NEW MATERIAL] NEW MEXICO-BASED TWENTY-FOUR-HOUR STATEWIDE NURSE ADVICE LINE--SERVICE AGREEMENT REQUIREMENT.--

          A. A person that enters into an agreement with the department to enroll individuals in a health coverage program operated by the department shall enter into a service agreement with a New Mexico-based twenty-four-hour statewide nurse advice line for services that the nurse advice line shall provide to the enrollees whom the department has enrolled.

          B. For the purposes of this section, "enrollee" means an individual on whose behalf the department enters into an agreement to provide health care services."
