AN ACT

MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE CHILD CARE PROGRAM; DECLARING AN

EMERGENCY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seven million two hundred

thousand dollars ($7,200,000) is appropriated from the

temporary assistance for needy families block grant to the

income support division of the human services department for

the children, youth and families department for expenditure in

fiscal year 2009 to sustain eligibility for the child care

program, including expansion of eligibility for the program at

two hundred percent of the federal poverty level.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public

peace, health and safety that this act take effect
