A JOINT MEMORIAL
REQUESTING THE NEW MEXICO LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL TO DIRECT THE APPROPRIATE COMMITTEE TO ASSESS THE EFFECT OF THE UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY'S NEW CLEAN WATER STANDARDS ON NEW MEXICO'S CAPITAL EXPENDITURES FOR PREVENTION OF POLLUTANTS AND MANAGEMENT OF ILLICIT DISCHARGES INTO NEW MEXICO'S WATER SYSTEMS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the New Mexico legislative council be requested to direct the appropriate legislative interim committee to assess the effect of the United States environmental protection agency's new clean water standards on New Mexico's capital expenditures for prevention of pollutants and management of illicit discharges into New Mexico's water systems; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the committee report its findings and recommendations to the New Mexico legislative council by January 1, 2009; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the members of the New Mexico legislative council.
