SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Memorial 66 declares that the New Mexico Senate recognize the contributions made to
the New Mexico State Legislature by Representative George J. Hanosh; that Representative
George J. Hanosh receive the acknowledgment of his fellow legislators in the senate who deeply
miss him; and that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to Representative George J. Hanosh.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
No Fiscal Impact.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
Senate Memorial 66 makes the following statements;
•
Representative George J. Hanosh has served in the house of representatives for five
consecutive terms; and
•
During those ten years, he has made many close friends in the senate; and
•
His empty chair on the floor of the house of representatives is a constant reminder that he
has been unable to attend the 2008 legislative session; and
•
His kind demeanor and his ability to work with his fellow legislators in the senate have
been dearly missed; and
•
Because of his absence, there is no longer a "Lebanese Connection" with the legislature, a
capacity he shares with former Senator Joseph A. Fidel; and
•
Half of the cars in the parking garage bear the name of his automobile dealership, and
now that he is not at the roundhouse, many new legislators have been forced to walk;
