SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 522, Making an Appropriation for a Talent Search for Youth Day; Declaring an
Emergency, makes an appropriation for $100.0 thousand to conduct a talent search for the New
Mexico Youth Day concert in FY08 and 09 and declares an emergency. The appropriation will
be from the General Fund to the Local Government Division of the Department of Finance and
Administration. Any unencumbered balance will revert to the General Fund at the end of FY09.
In 2007 legislation was enacted to create New Mexico Youth Day on the first Saturday in August
of each year. The New Mexico Youth Holiday will be in Bernalillo County.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $100.0 thousand contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general
fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY09 shall revert to the
general fund.
