Century

activities and parent literacy for parents of students who attend them. The appropriation of
$150.0 would supplement federal funding and would allow after-school enrichment programs at
21
st
Century Community Learning Centers in the South Valley of Albuquerque to sustain their
current after-school 21
st
Community Learning Center services. It would also allow new centers
to be opened in order to expand these services to additional students
.
Currently there are twenty-nine 21
st
Century Community Learning Center Programs in New
Mexico. The New Mexico Legislature appropriated $1,500.0 in 2007 for 21
st
Century
Community Learning Centers across the state. In 2007 schools in the South Valley of
Albuquerque received a state appropriation for $30.0 to be expended in 2008. Schools in the
South Valley of Albuquerque have a 2008 federal appropriation in the amount of $258.0.
CONFLICT, DUPLICATION, COMPANIONSHIP, RELATIONSHIP
House Bill 481 is related to HB 425 and HB 427 and Executive recommendation of $3,500,000
for after-school enrichment program in public school support. HB 427 (related bill) appropriates
$75,000 to the PED to supplement federal funds for After School Enrichment Programs at 21
st
Century Community Learning Centers in the South Valley of Bernalillo County.
