Synopsis of Bill

Senate Bill 310 requests an appropriation of thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) from the General

Fund to the local government division of the Department of Finance and Administration for

expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to provide operational costs associated with transitional housing

for veterans in the city of Las Cruces.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

The appropriation of thirty thousand dollars ($30,000.) contained in this bill is a recurring

expense to the General Fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of

fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the General Fund.

SIGNIFICANT ISSUES

The Sponsor’s office states that there is a growing need for transitional housing for veterans in

Las Cruces. This Senate Bill honors veterans past service.
