SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 222 Making an Appropriation for Public Libraries in Rio Arriba county, appropriates
$300 thousand from the general fund to DFA for purposes of funding public libraries.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $300 thousand contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general
fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY09 shall revert to the
general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
Senate Bill 222 will appropriate $300 thousand from the general fund to Department of Finance
and Administration, Local Government Division for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 for
distribution in equal amounts to all full public libraries in Rio Arriba County. Public libraries in
Rio Arriba County are located in El Rito, Embudo, Espanola, Jemez Springs, Abiquiu, and
Truchas.
