SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 630 makes an Appropriation for a Substance Abuse Program in San Miguel County,
appropriates $96.0 thousand from the general fund to DFA for the purpose of substance abuse
programs.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $96.0 thousand contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general
fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY09 shall revert to the
general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
HSD notes that
HB 630 would appropriate $90,000 to DFA/LGD for expenditure in fiscal year
2009 for a substance abuse program in San Miguel County that uses a best practices treatment
component, a prevention component, an after-care and supportive services component and the
community reinforcement approach (CRA).
