Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 625 requests an appropriation of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from
the General Fund to the Legislative Council Service for expenditure in fiscal years 2009 and
2010 for transportation costs, printing services and professional services for speakers for the
National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws' annual meeting in Santa Fe in
2009.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) contained in this Bill is a recurring
expenditure to the General Fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the
end of Fiscal Year 2009 shall revert to the General Fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
The National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws (NCCUSL), now 116 years
old, provides states with non-partisan, well-conceived and well-drafted legislation that brings
clarity and stability to critical areas of the law. NCCUSL’s work supports the federal system and
facilitates the movement of individuals and the business of organizations with rules that are
consistent from state to state.
