SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 603 appropriates $100.0 for expenditure in FY 2009 to the Public Education
Department (PED) for a full-time grant researcher in the Belen Consolidated School District.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $100.0 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund. Any
unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY09 shall revert to the general
fund.
No Fiscal Impact to the PED. It is anticipated that administrative support for this appropriation will be
absorbed within the existing resources.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
As stated by PED, Funding initiatives outside of the funding formula have a tendency to
disequalize school funding.
