SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 450 appropriates two hundred thousand dollars($200,0000 from the General Fund to
the Board of Regents of New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NM Tech) for
expenditure in FY09 for the following purposes:
•
$100,000 for expenses related to enrolling seven public school teachers who teach
mathematics and science in a twenty-month Masters of Science teaching program;
and
•
$100,000 for data research and analysis of students who have participated in
programs that prepared them for careers in mathematics, engineering and the
sciences.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) contained in this bill is a
recurring expense to the General Fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at
the end of Fiscal Year 2009 shall revert to the General Fund.
