AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ESTABLISH YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS IN TRIBAL COMMUNITIES TO PROMOTE SELF-ESTEEM, HEALTH AND WELLNESS OF YOUTH THROUGH RUNNING.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the Indian affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to establish youth development programs in tribal communities to promote self-esteem, health and wellness through running. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
